A glimmer of hope
I may yet teach my parents to understand me. The communication improves on almost daily basis. For example today mummy understood when I pointed to the pot in which she boils my dummies and handed me one (and then another). That made me quite happy. Also, I seem to have trained parents to exclaim with approval and clap their hands. This involves pointing to different things depending on the noises they make and also turning around, touching the ground and jumping (sort-of, the feet don't want to leave the floor), also in response to various noises. The things that make parents happy when pointed to: nose, eye, dummy, tummy, foot, shoe, ball, cat, star, apple, car, ball, balloon, dziadzio, emu, owl. And probably a few more, can't remember exactly. Been medivaced out of garden today on account of a BOO-BOO. A big scratch from some dead plant sticking up from the ground! Mummy pulled it out, and we washed our hands (slowly getting my mind around the weird wringing movement mummy is doing with soap and water), got some smelly stuff on my boo-boo and wented to the loungeroom to put a Bandaid on it. By that stage I couldn't quite remember which side of which hand the boo-boo was on, but we finally found it and put the bandaid on. But I decided that such a visible reminder of a boo-boo is too much and asked for it to be taken off. Getting mummy into a set routine these days. I tend to get up at 5:50am for a nice bottle, and then get back into a snooze cuddled up to mummy to about 7:10. Get up with dadda, watch videos. Then we wake mummy up and when she stops acting bleary we have a breakfast (usually a slice of pate) and slowly get ready to go to the garden. After two hours of hard gardening (and hammock swinging and sandbox work) I'm ready for water-play (they also call it handwashing) and then a decent lunch and beddy-bye. I used to go to sleep arodn 1:30, but all this hard gardening means that I'm exhausted around 12. I get up after 2-2.5 hours and feel a bit delicate for a while. Then we usually go somewhere: shopping or to the library (great big teddy in the last one we visited). And after a while dadda comes home, we have dinner and a bath (most of the time), and to bed at 8pm. Then I loll around enjoying a bottle and some company and cuddling from dadda, and am usually asleep by 8:30 or 9pm. Or 9:30 or 10pm if I feel frisky. Yes, generally happy with my current lifestyle.
